From a few weeks to a few hours – a rather different type of PCR analysis.

DYN diagnostics is an innovative kit manufacturing company with 30 years of experience in the medical market. DYN’s strong R&D department keeps innovating and introducing new products to the market.

They recently developed a diagnostic PCR kit using melting curve analysis for the identification of seven different species of dermatophytes from human samples.

After exploring different options, DYN chose to work with AIDTES.

The traditional method of diagnosing dermatophytes using culture and light microscopy that is used today in many medical laboratories has two main disadvantages – it takes 3 weeks to cultivate the samples and the sensitivity is about 70% with a high rate of false-negative. Additionally, the method calls for skilled personnel’s assistance to interpret the culture results under the microscope. With the new analysis type, the time from sample to result is reduced to just two days including sample preparation time.

As mentioned above, results are challenging to interpret, only trained lab technicians can do it. That is true for both the traditional method and the melting curves analysis as the method is seldom used in laboratories, and it takes time to learn how to read the results correctly.

Here enters AIDTES.

The software facilitates the analysis by saving time, but the more important factor is that anyone can perform the analysis using the software, with practically no training necessary.

The solution shows another novel way of using the software and its flexibility and advantages in different forms of diagnostics.

In a matter of weeks, AIDTES has helped increase the number of labs using the kit from one lab to 5 labs and 2 HMOs, including Clalit, the biggest healthcare provider in Israel. The growth was phenomenal, and the software will probably exacerbate the usage of DYNs kits in new locations worldwide.
